UPRISE – VOICE AGAINST DRUGS
Project UPRISE - Voice Against Drugs stands as a call to rise, to reclaim our streets, our classrooms, and our communities from the grip of addiction. It’s a reminder that safeguarding the youth is not just a cause; it’s a collective duty.
Title: Together for a Drug-Free Calicut
“Calicut’s youth deserve a future full of hope, freedom, and opportunity.”
🚀 Rising Together for a Brighter Tomorrow
Calicut, a city known for its vibrant culture, intellect, and youthful energy, now stands at a crucial crossroads. Beneath the rhythm of its bustling streets and thriving campuses lies a quiet but dangerous challenge: the growing shadow of substance abuse threatening to consume the dreams of its youth.
In response to this pressing issue, Cahoots International Foundation, in collaboration with Red FM, has launched Project UPRISE – Voice Against Drugs, a dynamic citywide movement that seeks to ignite awareness, inspire collective action, and restore hope.
UPRISE is not just a campaign it’s a revolution of conscience. It’s the sound of young voices refusing to be silenced by addiction, the sight of a community rising as one to protect its future, and the spark of change spreading through awareness and empathy.
💬 Breaking the Silence, Building Awareness
Every movement begins with a voice, and UPRISE gives that voice strength.
Through interactive street campaigns, school and college awareness sessions, community rallies, and open dialogue events, Cahoots and Red FM are taking the message to the heart of the city, where the youth live, learn, and dream.
These campaigns are not lectures; they are conversations. Conversations that replace judgment with understanding, fear with facts, and silence with solidarity. Volunteers, educators, doctors, and recovered individuals share their experiences to remind others that every life can be reclaimed, and every fall can be followed by a rise.
From graffiti walls carrying messages of hope to youth-driven art performances that challenge apathy, UPRISE transforms awareness into action and education into empowerment.
💪 Empowering the Youth, Strengthening the Community
At its core, UPRISE believes in one truth: that change begins with empowerment.
The campaign focuses on equipping young people with the knowledge, confidence, and courage to say no to drugs and yes to their future.
Workshops and peer-led sessions help students understand the psychological and social traps of addiction while highlighting healthy alternatives, creativity, sports, mentorship, and emotional wellness.
By fostering open dialogue between parents, teachers, and youth, the initiative also aims to build a stronger support network where help is accessible, and seeking it is never seen as a weakness.
🤝 From Awareness to Action: A Shared Responsibility
UPRISE is a reminder that the fight against drugs is not a fight against people it’s a fight for them.
It calls upon every citizen, every parent, every institution, and every youth to take part in building a safer, more conscious Calicut.
The campaign doesn’t just focus on prevention, but also on rehabilitation and reintegration, recognising that those who have stumbled deserve compassion, not condemnation. By collaborating with rehabilitation centres and mental health professionals, UPRISE extends its reach to those ready to reclaim their lives.
Because true change happens not when we punish, but when we uplift.
🌅 A Movement of Hope, A Promise of Tomorrow
As the campaign spreads across schools, campuses, and city streets, the message echoes louder than ever, “Rise Above. Choose Life.”
Every poster, every talk, every pledge becomes a symbol of hope.
UPRISE is about giving youth the power to rewrite their own stories, stories filled not with regret, but with purpose and pride.
With every volunteer who joins hands, every student who speaks up, and every citizen who chooses awareness over apathy, Calicut takes one step closer to a brighter, drug-free tomorrow.
