🌿 Where Creativity Meets Conscience
In a world where trends change faster than the seasons, and consumption often outpaces awareness, Cahoots International Foundation, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Calicut East, envisioned a transformative approach to fashion one that marries creativity, sustainability, and social responsibility. Thus, Project MERAKI – Fashion with Purpose, Style with Soul was born: an initiative that challenges young minds to think beyond the wardrobe and craft a vision that celebrates both artistry and the planet.
At the heart of MERAKI was the Sustainable Style Challenge, chaired by the talented Rituja, which invited emerging designers and young changemakers to reimagine fashion as a force for good. Participants were encouraged to create wearable art from scrap fabrics, discarded garments, and other materials often considered waste. What emerged was not just clothing, but stories woven into every stitch narratives of innovation, resilience, and conscious creativity.
🎨 Turning Waste into Wonder
Each design became a testament to imagination meeting purpose. Bold couture statements coexisted with minimalist, nature-inspired pieces, showcasing how sustainability and aesthetics can coexist beautifully. Every outfit carried a message: that style can be responsible, and responsibility can be stylish. Participants transformed limitation into opportunity, discarded textiles into statements of art, and old garments into symbols of renewal.
