As the sun dips below Calicut’s skyline and the air turns crisp, the streets tell stories few stop to hear. Beneath flyovers, on sidewalks, and outside shuttered shops, hundreds find themselves wrapped not in blankets, but in the fragile fabric of endurance.

The city’s winter nights have grown colder than before, a quiet, chilling echo of the world’s changing climate. What might feel like a pleasant breeze to many can mean a night of agony for those without shelter. For the homeless, every gust of wind carries both physical pain and emotional isolation, a reminder of how invisible they have become in the heart of a bustling city.

It was in these cold, forgotten corners that Cahoots International Foundation chose to act.

Project VEIL OF WARMTH began not as a grand campaign, but as a simple conversation a shared concern among Cahoots members about those struggling to survive the dropping temperatures. What started as a small idea collecting and distributing blankets soon grew into a city-wide mission of empathy, driven by the conviction that no one should be left to battle the cold alone.

Under the leadership of Mr Amal Dz, Founder and Guru of Cahoots, and supported by a community of passionate volunteers, the project evolved into a movement that united compassion with climate awareness. Members reached out to donors, local partners, and everyday citizens who wished to make a difference, transforming homes, offices, and classrooms into hubs of warmth collection.

Each donated blanket, whether brand new or lovingly reused, became more than fabric; it became a message of care, stitched with humanity, wrapped in purpose.
